Polesden Lacey, National Trust, Artist In Residence 2016
I was selected as "Artist in Residence" at Polesden Lacey on 2nd and 16th May 2016. I studied the cottage in the vegetable garden and the iris garden which I feel are linked by the cupids arrow in the sundial/sculpture. The arrow appears to come from the cottage. The irises reminded me of a 1000 fallen arrows of love, stuck in the ground. I am finishing the painting of the cottage to go with the painting of the irises. |

Monday 28th March - Sunday 3rd April 2016 10am-5pm Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking Wonder - The practice of drawing and painting from direct observation increases our perception and sense of awe and wonder of the world. Witness - We bare witness to the light of the world, care-full-y recording our perception of the here and now. Worship - By offering our attention (love) to the subject we worship and show gratitude for life to our god. We can marvel at the World Wide Web, but it can also be a distraction from our physical realm. We should remember to Wonder, Witness, Worship and not spend all our days surfing the virtual reality of the WWW.
